POSTERIUM

Invitation to the first exhibition of the international poster project initiated by TypoDesignSlovakia art association in cooperation with the Polish Institute in Bratislava. The participants of the "First Poster Club": late Shiego Fukuda (Tokyo), Lex Drewinski (Berlin), Dusan Junek (Bratislava), Karel Misek (Prague), István Orosz (Budakeszi), Wladyslaw Pluta (Warsaw) and Vladislav Rostoka (Bratislava). Opening ceremony: 6th of October, 5PM in the Gallery of Polish Institute. The next steps of the traveling exhibitions will be in Krakow, Budapest, Warsaw, Berlin, Prague, Helsinki, Paris, Rome, Zagreb and other cities of Europe. The Bratislava exhibition runs until 28 October. The posters of the poster show was designed by Vladislav Rostoka and Dusan Junek.

LOOK UP TO HIM!

Homage to Shigeo Fukuda – 76 designers for his 76 years – that is the title of the new exhibition organized by the BICeBé (Bienal Internacional del Cartel Bolivia).

I past here the photo of the poster viewed from an unusual (anamorphic) viewpoint. The distorted letters are readable only from bottom-view – so the message of the poster: look up to him!

There will be an other memory exhibition homage to Fukuda with about fifty invited artists. It will be a travelling show organized by Kriska Rudzinski’s Taidejulisetgalleria in Helsinki. Here is the poster I designed for that show.

SHIGEO FUKUDA PASSED AWAY

I received tonight the sad news of the passing of the great Master of Illusion and great friend: Shigeo Fukuda. It happened suddenly. He was 76.

Dear friends, don't worry about him: Shigeo Fukuda is not dead. Only those can believe such nonsense who do not know his posters. Look at them again! The top is bottom, the outside is inside, the plane becomes space and the past future... Death? Come on! He is so much more alive: more perfectly than ever. In all our hearts...
